Full moons & new moons 2025

During 2025, we will have an exact new moon and full moon in the following signs and lunar houses according to the Vedic astrology. (Budapest time, GMT+1)

Since the Vedic astrological system is based on the real position of the constellations, the so-called calculates with the sidereal zodiac - in contrast to western-tropical astrology, where the sign boundaries are based on the annual cycles of the Sun -, therefore the sidereal zodiac is now approx. It is offset by 23.5 degrees from the tropical zodiac. This is also why the full moon and the new moon do not always coincide in the same sign in the Vedic system as in the Western system.

Special Moon Positions in 2025

This year, from January to March, until the lunar eclipse, the full moon will occur in the last, 29th degree of the given sign. Because of this, in the first quarter, we may feel a stronger inner urge for something, we may feel like we are missing out on something, we still need to make up for something, we do not have time to wait. A kind of FOMO, or fear of missing out, can take over. We also become more easily frustrated by the tension felt due to missed opportunities.

Regarding the things that the movement of the Moon triggers in us, it may be worth waiting until mid-March and examining what caused us to fall behind, and in what form it would be optimal to make up for the lack.

Since the Cancer full moon on February 12th occurs at the Gandanta point, this period will be more emotionally charged for many, as the spiritual aspects of the blockages present in our lives may affect us more deeply.

The prominent nakshatras will be:

Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, Purva Phanguni, Uttara Phanguni

The Uttara Phalguni nakshatra will be particularly affected, as there will be both a solar and lunar eclipse here.

The eclipse months will be March and September. There will be solar and lunar eclipses on the following dates throughout the year.
